Yes! This one's important. Start moisturising the tattoo area with Bepanthen or a similar cream 1–2 weeks before your session. Well-hydrated skin takes ink much better, heals faster, and means fewer passes with the needle. It's a small step that makes a big difference in the final result.

Don't overthink it — you're in good hands. Relax, bring your favourite music or a show to watch, and enjoy the process. Most clients say it's way more chill than they expected.

A session can last anywhere from 6 to 12 hours, so treat it like a long flight — bring water, a light snack, and something sweet to keep your energy up. Headphones and something to watch are always a good idea too.

Something comfortable that gives easy access to the tattoo area. You'll be sitting or lying for hours, so comfort is everything. Dark colours are a smart choice — just in case.

Avoid aspirin, antibiotics, and any blood-thinning medication before your session — they affect how the ink sits and can cause extra bleeding. Ibuprofen and paracetamol are fine if you need them. If you're taking any prescription meds, just let me know in advance.

I'll cover your fresh tattoo with a special soft protective film. Keep it on overnight. Don't remove it, don't peek — just let it do its job while you sleep.

Remove the pad carefully. Wash your tattoo thoroughly with warm water and a mild, hypoallergenic soap — make sure all residue is gone. Then either let it air-dry completely or gently pat it dry with a clean paper towel. Everything should be as clean as possible.

I'll give you pieces of Second Skin film after your session. Once the tattoo is clean and dry, apply the Second Skin and keep it on for the next 5–7 days. Don't lift or pierce it — if fluid collects underneath, that's completely normal.

Short, cool showers are fine. Avoid saunas, steam rooms, swimming pools, the sea, jacuzzis, and long baths. No soaking, no overheating — the film will peel if you do.

By this point your tattoo is mostly healed. Start applying Bepanthen, a gentle moisturising cream, or lotion 1–2 times a day. Avoid direct sunlight, tanning beds, and friction from tight clothing for the next few weeks.

Moisturise daily — creams with vitamin E, aloe vera, shea butter, or coconut oil work great. Always apply SPF 50+ before going outside, even on cloudy days. UV is the biggest enemy of your tattoo — it fades colours and blurs lines over time.

With proper care, most work holds beautifully for years. If colours lighten, some spots didn't hold ink well, or you want to bring back contrast — that's what touch-ups are for. I only touch up my own work, since every artist uses different pigments and techniques.
